Leisure Living Superstore was founded in Temecula, Ca, in 2001. Its roots however run far deeper.
In 1979 Jeff Berry and his brother Dean founded a small 1,000sq/ft retail store selling wood burning stoves. With only $4,000 in capital and two stoves on consignment it was a rough start. Successful door to door retail fireplace sales created an opportunity to also support local contractors and home builders with wholesale hearth products. In 1987 Jeff & Dean added Hot Tubs & Spas to round out the seasonality of the Fall/Winter fireplace business. Within a year they opened their first Fireplace & Spa store consisting of 8000 sq ft. It was a great success leading to the opening of two more stores and the addition of barbecues, patio furniture and billiard tables to the product mix. By 1997 the enterprise had grown to 4 stores, a 65,000sw/ft distribution center, 150 employees, and was grossing $25M per year. In 1998 the company was sold to HON industries and within a year Jeff and his family moved to Temecula and shortly thereafter began Leisure Living Superstore.

3,500 customers stormed the doors of the new 30,000sq/ft Temecula Superstore grand opening weekend in July 2001. "Customers were excited they had never seen anything like it!" President and Founder Jeff Berry commented, “We watch people when they first come in. They look up and around and are just mesmerized at first. To them it is like an adult toy land, a playground for adults.”
Leisure Living Superstore, locally owned and operated by the Berry family, has been a great community partner since the first store opened in Temecula in 2001. This 35,000 square foot store boasts the largest selection of spas, barbecues and barbecue islands, patio furniture and billiard and game tables in Southwest California, and is considered by some to be a 'big kids’ toy store.
And speaking of kids, Leisure Living Superstore has donated more than $30,000 in cash and merchandise over the past four years to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southwest County. Leisure Living has been the Kids Cup Title Sponsor since 2003 and has supported the club’s annual fundraising auction for the past three years.
